After working for all of three years after graduating I decided to have some fun instead and disappear on a trip around the world. I'll post pics on here time to time if your interested to see where I've been while you've been stuck in work!

Hong Kong

After Penang I headed back to KL in order to fly to Hong Kong to visit Stu and Vicky, friends from uni. To save money (if not time) I flew to Macau first then caught a ferry across to Hong Kong Island however as I hadn't booked the ferry ahead ended up stuck at the terminal for a while. From inside the bus to the ferry terminal Macau seemed to be a very neon lit place and full of flashing lights and buildings made to look like mountains or pyramids.
Hong kong is a bit of a crazy place. I don't think I've ever seen a place so built up in such little space. Some of the modern architecture is impressive although because of all this modern construction very little original buildings remain. As I was only there for a few days it felt like a maze, and was a bit disorientating shooting around on the underground metro and never quite knowing where abouts I was!
Stu and Vicky live a ferry ride away from Hong Kong at Discovery Bay and the ride takes you past a number of other islands like stonecutters and one where they've built Disneyland HK. While sight seeing they stu spotted a pug puppy that kept making him laugh every time he looked at its face so he ended up buying it.
Hong Kong had bustling streets at day time but also had some lively areas at night too. The photos above is Stu, Vicky and their friend Louise singing Karaoke in the early hours of the morning after a night out.
