Koh Toa
Next I travelled south on an overnight train. Not sure what ticket I bought but think it was cattle class and I was the only foreigner on the train and spent the whole night fighting for leg space with the thai guy sat next to me. Ride was uncomfortable and hot so didn't manage to get much sleep before arriving at 4am at the palce where I was to get the ferry to Koh Tao. A guy came over forcefully trying to sell me tickets for a ferry to Koh Tao. As it was dark and I didn't have a clue where I was, decided it was best to buy it off him and see what happens. In the end it turned out okay, as generally in SEAsia you don't always know whats going on but you seem to get where you want to okay in the end!
Before arriving I went to Koh Tao hoping I could get the PADI Open Water License for diving. However after talking to the instructors about my collapsed lung a few years ago they advised it wasn't safe for me to dive :(. Decided to hang around for a few days anyway. Koh Tao is a small fairly quiet island with some good snorkelling so had a relaxing few days swimming in the sea and getting a burnt back!
