After working for all of three years after graduating I decided to have some fun instead and disappear on a trip around the world. I'll post pics on here time to time if your interested to see where I've been while you've been stuck in work!

Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island is a short ferry ride away from Fremantle and Perth. It is an island formally used to house an army barracks and before that a lighthouse to guide boats atempting to head aorund the south of australia. Now it is more of a holiday island with plenty of little bays and beaches to explore. The island is small enough to hire a bike and pedal around although its tiring work when really hot!
The wallaby like creature is a quokkes which I think are unique to the island. The original european (dutch I think) discoverers of the island thought they were giant rats, hence the name
rottnest island.
